Theme Extension (Recommended)

The theme app extension lets you add reviews to your store directly from the Shopify theme editor. No Liquid code editing required.

Prerequisites

SimplerSuite Reviews installed on your store (Installation)

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
Navigate to a product page template using the page selector at the top
In the left sidebar, click Add block
Under Apps, select Product Reviews
Drag the block to your preferred position within the product page
Click Save

The reviews widget will now appear on all product pages using that template.

Add the Star Rating Badge (Optional)

To show a compact star rating near the product title:

While still in the theme editor on a product page template, click Add block
Under Apps, select Star Rating Badge
Position the block near the product title or price
Click Save

When both blocks are present, clicking the badge scrolls the page to the full reviews section.

How It Works

The blocks automatically detect the current product and shop
Customer identity (email, name) is included when the customer is logged in, enabling verified reviews and interactive badge ratings
Widget appearance is controlled from your SimplerSuite Reviews dashboard, not from theme editor block settings
The widget JavaScript loads from our CDN and updates independently — no theme redeployment needed

Troubleshooting

Block shows a placeholder message

The reviews and badge blocks only render on product pages. If you see a message like “Product Reviews block — add this to a product page to display reviews”, move the block to a product page template.

Verify the app is installed and your store has an active plan
Check that you’re viewing a product page (not a collection or homepage)
Open the browser console and look for [SimplerReviews] messages
